2. Goto image>mode>lab color.
3. If you have two layers, dont merge it.
4. Goto Window>channels.
When opened you will see 4 layers in channel palette. Highlight lightness layer only. Goto Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp mask.
5. Now change the color mode back to RGB .i.e. image>mode>RGB.
